The management of Cable Newspaper Limited wants to, once again, alert readers to the existence of websites apparently passing off as TheCable.
This clarification became necessary in light of a viral post about President Muhammadu Buhari and Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state, which was published by a website using ‘Cable’ in its name.
The website quoted el-Rufai as saying that “Buhari does not have the mental and physical capacity to lead Nigeria.”
Although we do not dispute the right of any individual or organisation to operate under similar names since no law appears to have been broken, we are worried that many readers have been sharing the story under the impression that it was published by TheCable.
