A team of doctors has successfully separated a set of conjoined twins at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada, FCT.
Nuhu Kwajafa, a doctor with Global Peace Initiatives, confirmed the success of the operation that took the team several hours on Tueadsy.
Writing via his Instagram account, he said the twins were born in June 2018 and are both boys.
According to Kwajafa, doctors had advised that the surgery can be carried out at their four months of age.

He said a total sum of N1 million was required as payment for the surgery.
Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, was said to have donated to the cause.

“We wish to express our profound gratitude, as we say a massive thank you to Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, for his kind-hearted and extremely generous gesture to the successfully separated twins and their family,” Kwajafa wrote.
