Ben Murray-Bruce, senator representing Bayelsa-east, says Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, “does not belong in the other room”.
Bruce said this in reaction to two videos shared by Aisha on Twitter.
The video clips showed two senators, including Bruce, criticising Buhari’s government.
That was not the first time which the wife of the Nigerian leader would disagree with him in public.

In an interview with BBC in 2016, she alleged that her husband’s government had been hijacked.
Responding to the stunning criticism, Buhari had said his wife belongs “in his kitchen and “the other room.”
The phrase “the other room”, apparently a euphemism for the bedroom, spread like wildfire over the social media.

But responding to Aisha’s latest action, Bruce described her as an intelligent woman with good leadership qualities.
He pleaded with her never to be cowed.
“Let me say that by the actions and utterances of @aishambuhari since she became Nigeria’s First Lady, it‘s my opinion that she does not belong in the ‘other room’,” the tweet read.
“She is a very intelligent woman that has the capacity to lead and lead well. Your Excellency, please never be cowed!”
