In the 41st minute, Ogenyi Onazi almost reduced the tally as his free-kick was heading for the top corner, but goalkeeper Parfait Madanda pushed it away for a corner kick.

Oliseh sent on the duo of Emmanuel Emenike and Moses Simon for Ibrahim and Igbonu respectively while Alex Iwobi, made his international debut for Nigeria when he came in for Musa.

But there was mild drama after the Arsenal starlet came on.

Chelsea midfielder, Mikel Obi, refused to collect the captain band from substituted Musa, but Onazi saved the day after stepping forward to collect it.

But it could have been 3-0 to the Congolese in the 71st minute but for Balogun’s well-timed tackle that foiled  Yannick Bolasie from going through on goal.

Nigeria chased the game, but they could not create any clear-cut chance at goal as Congo ran away with victory.
