Saidu Adamu, assistant director of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign council in Kaduna, has been reportedly arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).

TheCable gathered that Adamu was arrested on Wednesday alongside El Abbas Muhammed and Talib Mohammed, PDP youth leaders.

Sources privy to the development revealed that the politicians have been accused by the secret services of planning to cause violence during the forthcoming March 11 polls in the state.

Confirming the arrests on Wednesday in a telephone chat, Abraham Alberah, spokesman of the PDP in Kaduna, said the trio was arrested by the DSS on an allegation of incitement.

Alberah also alleged that some members of the campaign council have been marked for arrest by the DSS on the instruction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the state.

“The APC is using security agencies to intimidate the opposition in the face of glaring defeat awaiting it in Saturday’s governorship election,” Albera said.

“The DSS arrested them, claiming that they have been inciting violence. There is no doubt that the ruling party is using security agencies to intimidate us.
