DSS ‘profiling thugs, people with questionable characters’

The department of state services (DSS) says it is profiling political thugs and people with questionable characters across the country ahead of the general election.

Marilyn Ogar, spokeswoman of the organisation, disclosed this while fielding questions at a press conference organised by the national information centre.

Ogar said suspected thugs would be arrested before the general election.

“There is profiling of those whose presence in certain areas cannot be easily and immediately be explained. We profile all people with questionable character and before the election, they are taken in,” she said, adding that the service was investigating violent attacks recently witnessed in Rivers.

“We are investigating. So, whatever happened will not go uncovered. Once you observe a new face, unexplained movement of people you do not know or sudden business concern cropping up around you, alert the security agencies.”
