D’Tigers, Nigerian men’s basketball team, dropped one spot down from their 32nd position to 33rd in the latest FIBA world ranking.
Despite dropping a spot down in the world, D’Tigers maintained their first spot in the continent, according to the new ranking released Thursday.
The Nigerian squad is one of the 47 teams that dropped in the ranking despite qualifying for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in China.
Angola is the second-ranked team while Senegal, Tunisia and Egypt are third, fourth and fifth in Africa.

Other countries in the African top 10 who moved up are Cameroon (58th in the world), Morocco (60th), Mali (67th) Cote D’ Ivoire (68th) and Central African Republic (35th).
The top 10 teams in the world are US (1), Spain (2), France (3), Serbia (4), Argentina (5), Lituania (6), Slovenia (7), Greece (8), Croatia (9), and Australia(10).
