Nigeria dropped nine places from the 61st to the 70th position in the latest FIFA world ranking released on Thursday.
The Super Eagles’ points haul dropped from 559 to 514 to tie with Congo.
Nigeria are now 17th in Africa, behind the likes of Algeria (first in Africa, 32nd in the world) Cote d’ivoire (35th in the world) Ghana (36th in the world) and Senegal (41st in the world).
Meanwhile, Argentina maintain the number one spot in the world and are followed by Belgium, Colombia, Germany and Chile who occupy second, third, fourth and fifth places respectively.

Other countries in the top 10 are Portugal in sixth, France in seventh, Spain in eighth, Brazil in ninth and Italy in 10th.
