Football activities resumed across Europe last weekend with goals and reverting performances entertaining the fans of the game.
Nigerian footballers were not left out of the net-bursting performances in Europe with a few of them putting in significant displays for their various clubs.

In Germany, Taiwo Awoniyi bagged a quick-fire brace for Union Berlin FC in the team’s 2-1 victory over Mainz 05 in their Bundesliga clash on Sunday.

The goals put the 24-year-old’s haul to eight across all competitions this season.
The blistering form has earned him a maiden call up to the Super Eagle’s camp for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualification doubleheader clash against the Central Africa Republic (CAR).

In England, Kelechi Iheanacho scored his first Premier League goal of the season during Leicester City’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The game was the Nigerian’s first league start of the season, and he put in an astounding performance.
The goal came in the 31st minute as Iheanacho pounced on a mistake from Joachim Andersen at the edge of the 18-yard before slotting the ball into the bottom left corner of Vicente Guaita.
The 25-year-old also became the third Nigerian to score on their birthdays, alongside Jay-Jay Okocha, and Obafemi Martins.

In Denmark, Stephen Odey’s goal was vital in helping FC Randers secure a point against Brondby IF in their Danish Superliga.
The goal was the Lagos-born striker’s third in four games to keep the team amongst the league leaders.
