Uba Sani, Kaduna state governor- elect, has asked Christians to imbibe values such as love and compassion just like Christ did when he was on earth.
In his Easter message to Christians in the state, on Sunday, Sani said Nigeria would be better if citizens imbibe the values of humility, love, compassion, peace and righteousness.
He called on Nigerians to use the Easter period as an opportunity to purge themselves of hatred and forgive one another.
“We must strive to imbibe the values which Jesus Christ lived for. If we imbibe the values of humility, love, compassion, peace and righteousness, our communities and country would be better places,” he said.

“We must use the opportunity provided by this period to purge ourselves of feelings of hate.
“We must forgive one another. We must rehumanise our communities and spread love around. We must strive to imbibe the values which Jesus Christ lived.

“Most of our communities are in the throes of conflict but peace is the only way towards progress and development.”
The governor-elect added that politicians should also adopt selflessness in their service to the people that elected them.
“We asked our people to give us their mandates to offer selfless service to them,” Sani said.
“Just as Jesus Christ lived a life of selfless service to the people, elected people must live lives of unconditional service to the people.

“If we de-emphasize self and prioritise the people, we shall build more prosperous communities and our people will live happier and healthier lives.”
