Nigerian professionals in the workplace have been asked to take their health more seriously and eat right to avoid future health challenges or medical complications that could cut short their lives and career.
This was the charge at the special business roundtable organised by the Nigerian Business Coalition Against AIDS (NiBUCAA), at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos on Wednesday.
In attendance at the event, which held at the Civic Centre, were business officials from different companies in the country led by billionaire business, Pascal Dozie, chairman of MTN Nigeria and co-chair, NiBUCAA.
The keynote presentation, themed ‘Basic Nutrition: Tips for Healthy Living and Maintaining Healthy Living and Work-life Balance’, was delivered by Anslem Audu, a doctor and an HIV& AIDS Specialist, at the Lagos office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Goodwill messages were also delivered by officials from the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA), the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).
There were also presentations by other speakers at the Access-Bank sponsored event.
NiBUCAA, whose members include corporate organisations such as Access Bank Plc, NNPC, MTN, Julius Berger, Dangote Group, Total Nigeria Plc, and Nestle among others, was set up in 2003 during the presidency of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as the voice of the private sector response to HIV/AIDS in the country.
