Ebonyi to hold sanitation exercise November 25

The Ebonyi government says there will be a sanitation exercise across the state on November 25.

The state government said there will be restriction of human and vehicular movement during the exercise.

In a statement on Friday, Victor Chukwu, Ebonyi commissioner for environment, urged residents to take advantage of the exercise to clean up their surroundings.

Chukwu said the exercise would hold between 7 am to 10 am.

The commissioner added that only those on essential duties and with valid means of identification, would be allowed to move around.

“Residents of the state are further reminded that a taskforce from the Ministry of Environment and security operatives will be on ground to arrest and prosecute sanitation offenders in line with the Ebonyi Environmental Sanitation Laws,” Chukwu was quoted as saying by NAN.

He reminded those visiting the state to observe total compliance as “ignorance of the law is no excuse”.
