The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says it has deployed a special intelligence team to crack down on illegal movement and hoarding of food commodities in Katsina state.

Jamilu Indabawa, the NSCDC commandant in the state, said this on Monday while receiving Jabiru Tsauri, chief of staff to the state governor and chairman of the committee set up to monitor prices and movement of grains in Katsina.

On February 21, Dikko Radda, governor of Katsina, inaugurated a 27-member joint task force to monitor prices and illegal movement of food commodities in the state.

Indabawa noted that the commission will be working on credible intelligence from different special teams.
