The Edo All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Forum says there is a plan to disrupt the party’s ongoing governorship primary election in the state.
The party declared the initial primary election inconclusive after some governorship aspirants were declared winners of the exercise.
Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo and chairman of the panel when the primary was held on Saturday, had declared Dennis Idahosa, a member of the house of representatives, winner of the exercise.
However, Ojo Babatunde, spokesperson of the returning officers, said Sunday Dekeri, a lawmaker representing Etsako federal constituency in the house of representatives, polled 25,384 votes to defeat Idahosa.

Also, Monday Okpebholo, senator representing Edo central and a governorship aspirant, claimed that he won the election with over 6,000 votes.
Bassey Otu, governor of Cross River state, was named as Uzodinma’s replacement to oversee the fresh primary poll.
In a statement on Thursday, Pascal Osadolor, leader of the group, said President Bola Tinubu should call Adams Oshiomhole, senator representing Edo north, to order over an alleged plan to ensure Idahosa is flagbearer.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made it clear that the process that will produce the governorship candidate of the APC in Edo State must be free and fair,” Osadolor said.
“He also said zoning must be respected.
“But Oshiomhole believes that he’s bigger than President Tinubu and he’s trying to undermine him. We’ll resist him.
“We are sending out this statement to alert President Tinubu and the national chairman of the APC to call Oshiomhole to order.”
