Edo guber: Uzodinma chairs panel on APC primary election

Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo state, has been appointed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to lead a seven-member committee that will conduct the party’s governorship primary election in Edo state.

A statement by Sulaiman Argungu, APC national organising secretary, said the primary election has been slated for February 17.

Argungu said Bassey Otu, governor of Cross River, would serve as the deputy chair of the primary election committee.

“Other members of the Primary Election Committee include: former Osun state deputy governor, Mrs Titilayo Laoye-Tomori; APC’s flag bearer in the Plateau State 2023 governorship election, Nentanwe Yilwatde Goshwe; Umar Musa; Lawan Garba and Rabiu Suleiman who will serve as the Secretary,” the organising secretary said.

“Also constituted is the membership of the Edo State gubernatorial Primary Election Appeal Committee, chaired by Barr. C.C Udenwa. Other members include: Muhammad Zakaria Sarina; Udogu Anthony Chijoke; Muhammad Garin Ali and Yunusa Mohammed who will serve as Secretary.”

The election and appeals committee would be inaugurated on Thursday at 4:00 pm at the APC national headquarters in Abuja.

The party has since cleared all the twelve aspirants jostling for its ticket to contest the September 22 Edo governorship election.

The aspirants are: Clem Agba, Monday Okpebholo, Lucky Imasuen, Anamero Sunday Dekeri, Osagie Andrew Ize-Iyamu, Gideon Ikhine, David Imuse, Charles Ehigie Airhiavbere, Oserheimen Osunbor, Blessing Agbomhere, Dennis Idahosa and Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe.
