The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will retrain the presiding officers and assistant presiding officers for the governorship election in Edo state.
Citing security reasons, the commission rescheduled the exercise initially scheduled for September 10 to September 28.
Addressing reporters in Benin, the state capital, on Monday, Prisillia Sule, INEC’s assistant director on voter education and publicity in Edo, said the electoral body had commenced the withdrawal of its card readers and non-sensitive materials across the 18 local government areas of the state.
He said the withdrawal of the card readers was to enable the commission reconfigure them ahead of the September 28 election

Sule added that a stakeholders’ meeting had been scheduled for September 22, to enable the commission intimate the people on its level of readiness.
