Edo postpones resumption of schools till Oct 6

The Edo state government has rescheduled the resumption of primary and secondary schools in the state to October 6, 2020.

Godwin Obaseki, the state governor, had earlier approved September 28 for primary and secondary schools to resume for the 2020/2021 academic session.

Jimoh Ijegbai, commissioner for education, in a statement on Tuesday, had said in order to observe the social distancing safety protocol in the classrooms, junior secondary schools would operate between 8am and 11am, while senior secondary schools would be between 12pm and 3pm.

However, in a statement on Sunday, Crusoe Osagie, special adviser to the governor on media and communication strategy, said the resumption has been rescheduled.
