Peculiar Ultimate Concerns (PUC), Nigerian engineering firm, has signed a sponsorship deal worth N35 million with Edo Queens.
The shirt sponsorship deal was signed in Osogbo on Wednesday before Osun Babes hosted Edo Queens in a Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) game.
Abel Adeleke, managing director of the firm, presented the sponsorship cheque to Philip Shaibu, Edo state deputy governor, at an event to mark the occasion.
According to him, the deal was informed by the club’s “high level organisation and professionalism.”

“We decided to support Edo Queens because of the club’s high level organisation and professionalism. Besides, the Queens earn pay parity with players of Insurance FC and this is the only place this is happening in Nigeria,” he said.
“The deal would see our pay 50 per cent of total packages of the shirt deal, amounting to N17.5 million, and the partnership would see Peculiar Ultimate Concerns logo imprinted on Edo Queens match jerseys from now till end of the current season while it would continue if the Queens qualify for the CAF Women Champions League.
“We are also committed to spend as much as N3.5 billion to help guarantee further development and professionalism for the women’s football league in Nigeria and ultimately on the continent, in addition to making our presence felt across the country and ultimately on the continent.”
