Edo Queens have qualified for the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.

The 2023/24 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) champions achieved the feat after trashing Benin Republic’s Ainonvi FC 3-0 in the final of WAFU B zonal qualifiers on Friday at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake, Cote d’Ivoire.

The Benin Arsenal qualified for the final after defeating Inter FC of Cote d’Ivoire 2-1 on Tuesday.

The NWFL champions also dominated their group in progressing into the knockout phase of the qualifiers. They won all three group matches, scoring nine goals and conceding none.

Early in the second half, Emem Essien doubled Benin Arsenal’s lead before the team tied the match to make the score 3-0.

Edo Queens will represent Nigeria at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League, which will be held later in the year. The host country of the competition will be decided at the CAF general assembly in October.
