The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it arrested 74 suspected internet fraudsters in Ogun state on Thursday.
Dele Oyewale, EFCC spokesperson, announced the development in a statement issued on Saturday. The arrest was carried out by operatives of the Ibadan zonal command of the anti-graft agency, he said.
Oyewale said the alleged fraudsters were arrested at Government Residential Area (GRA) in the Shagamu axis of the state, following surveillance and intelligence exposing their suspected internet-related offences.
“Items recovered from them include seven exotic cars, three laptops, 124 mobile phones, one PlayStation 3 game, two motorcycles and other incriminating documents,” Oyewale said.
