The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will on Friday present a second witness in the trial of Gbenga Daniel, former governor of Ogun state.
Daniel, who is facing trial on a 38-count charge, had been accused of stealing public funds, bribery, fraudulent conversion of public property and false declaration of assets to the tune of N211.3m.
Adebisi Adeniyi, who stood in for Rotimi Jacobs, a senior advocate of Nigeria, informed the court at the resumed hearing of the matter on Thursday, that the witness would further testify against the former governor.
Kunle Osota, former director, bureau of lands and survey, Ogun state, had earlier told the court that allocated portions of land were taken from their registered bona fide owners, and re-allocated to other applicants during Daniel’s tenure.
