EFCC: We retrieved N1bn from Dikko, ex-Customs boss, N100m from Obanikoro

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has retrieved N1 billion from Abdullahi Dikko, a former comptroller-general of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS),

The commission also confirmed reports that Musiliu Obanikoro, a former minister of state for defence, returned N100 million.

According to NAN, Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesman, disclosed this via a SMS.

Dikko, who headed the NCS between August 2009 and August 2015, was reportedly arrested by the EFCC in June over alleged diversion of N40 billion from the agency’s coffers.

“He dropped his Nigerian and American passports, apart from being released to two sureties,’’ Uwujaren said.
