Azubuike Egwuekwe, Super Eagles defender, is delighted to have scored on his debut for new team club side, Kuopion Palloseura of Finland, on Friday.
Kuopion Palloseura played against MP, a second division team in the Soumen cup game, which KuPs won by three goals to nothing.
Speaking with TheCable in a telephone chat from his base in Veikkausliiga, Egwuekwe expressed his happiness, saying: “I am very happy to have scored today (Friday) on my debut for the club.
“I give God the glory for this. I have been working hard so that I can give my best in my new club and scoring today makes me happy.”

Egwuekwe said he hopes to continue scoring goals in spite of his role as a central defender.
“I will keep giving my best in every game. And I hope I will be able to score more goals too,” he said. “The fans here are so wonderful. They make me feel at home. It’s home away from home.”
Azubuike scored the third goal of the game through a header to seal the victory for KuPs.

Known for his sense of adventure in moving forward from his major defensive duties to score goals, Eqwuekwe has scored two goals for the Super Eagles.
