Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, has requested the United Nations (UN) intervention in battle against Islamic State (ISIS) in Libya.
El-Sisi, who spoke with France Europe One, urged UN to make a resolution to allow international forces intervene in Libya in order to conquer ISIS.
“There is no other choice, taking into account the agreement of the Libyan people and government and that they call on us to act,” he said.
“We will not allow them to cut off the heads of our children; we need to do it again, and all of us together.”

On Sunday, ISIS released a video showing the gruesome beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians.
In response to this act of violence, Egyptian jets were directed to bomb ISIS targets in Libya on Monday, with further retaliatory attacks promised by the Egyptian government.
The president added that the effort of the international community in Libya was an unfinished business that must be continued in order to destroy ISIS.

“We abandoned the Libyan people as prisoners to extremists,” he added, emphasising the need for the world to come to Libya’s rescue.
On Monday, Egypt signed a £3.8 billion defence deal with France, which would, among other things, facilitate the purchase of 24 advanced fighter jets.
Though ISIS operates predominantly in Syria and Iraq, the sect has influence and operation in eastern Libya, the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt.
