Egyptian Omar Assar has defeated India’s Sarthak Ghandi to win his third ITTF Challenge Nigeria Open.
Assar on Sunday won the men’s singles event in four straight sets.
The Egyptian, who had said he was coming to reclaim his title in Nigeria, was presented the trophy by Lagos state governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
In the single’s women final, an Egyptian representative also took the day.

Africa’s number one player Dina Meshref defeated Russian Kulikova Olga in the final of the women’s event.
The victory is Meshref’s first Nigerian Open title.
Top Nigerian player Aruna Quadri on Saturday crashed out of the tournament after being beaten by compatriot Abiodun Bode.

Quadri and Assar had earlier defeated Bode and Ajetumobi Seun in the doubles event.
