Eight Nigerians among world’s best performing students in Cambridge exams

Eight Nigerian students are among the best performers in the 2015/2016 Cambridge International Examinations organised by the University of Cambridge, UK.

The exams, conducted in different subjects across various secondary schools, is aimed at preparing students “for life, and helping them develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning”.

The Nigerians include Enwezoh Kachisicho (Food & Nutrition), Anyaegbunam Victor (Mathematics), Daniel-Aguebor Jesutobiloba (Mathematics) and Olatunde Olaposi (Mathematics).

Others are Komolafe Hossana (Religious Studies), Lily Merour (Computer Science), Olatunji Oluwakorede (Mathematics) and Oluwagbemisola Oresegun (Religious Studies).

Three other Nigerians were adjudged the ‘Best Across’ all subjects in three other Cambridge exams.

They are Ayodeji Oluwafisayo, Ukabiala Chimdi and Kalango Enatarari.

They were honoured alongside other awardees at a ceremony organised by the British Council on Friday in Lagos.

Connie Price, country director, British Council, congratulated the successful students.

She said the council will “continue to build on our innovative work in the arts, education, English, exams, society, peace building and gender equality to integrate it more with our work with young people”.

“At the focal point of our work are our policies which include equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and child protection,” she added.
