Pro-European candidate Emmanuel Macron, 39, has won the French presidential election by a large margin, winning between 65 and 66 per cent of the vote, according to French media projections.
Macron easily beat far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen after a bitter contest pitting his pro-EU liberal platform against her calls for France to close its borders and pull out of the euro single currency.
Le Pen conceded defeat and said she called Emmanuel Macron to congratulate him.
“The French have chosen a new President of the Republic and have voted for continuity,” she told her supporters.

“I want to thank the 11 million French who have given me their vote and their confidence.”
A record number of French voters supported the far-right leader.
Macron’s supporters, who gathered outside the Louvre museum in central Paris, broke out in wild cheers and waved the French flag as the news came through.

Macron, set to become France’s youngest ever president, is himself expected to make a statement soon.

I wish the President quick recovery….. But however Nigerians must free themselves from this governance conspiracy. In less than 48hours three major events have been played up. The release of the chibok girls, the big news that the President was aware of the 13billion found in the Ikoyi Apartment by the Chief of staff, and now the jetting off of the President after many days of denial that he was actually fine but resting due to age.
I feel all these events don’t look coincidental but some kind of script being strategically motioned by giving the public took much to talk about and think about there by minimizing exhaustive discourse and dousing already mounting tension as it concern the President’s health.
