My enemies at work… I wasn’t attacked, says Katsina rep

Amiru Tukur, member representing Bakori/Danja constituency in the house of representatives, says he was not attacked by political thugs at a rally of the All progressives Congress (APC) in Funtua local government area of Katsina state.

The programme ended abruptly as a result of the mob action.

Dignitaries, including Abu Ibrahim, senator representing Katsina south, and Bello Massari, governor of the state, hurriedly left the event which was put together to welcome defectors from other parties.

Speaking with reporters in Kano on Friday, Tukur said reports of his attacks were untrue.

“There are foes in politics… they stalk you wherever you set your feet. So, this is normal in the den of good-for-nothing political exploiters in this country,” he said.

“I was perplexed when I heard that I was attacked and even sustained a head injury. That was a raw lie.”

“People of Bakori/Danja have been wonderful and I am assuring them of my continued commitment and hard work in the house. More projects and developmental programmes will be coming.

“This political hatred is going nowhere. I am hale and hearty, as you can see. Nothing happened to me.”
