England defeated co-hosts Australia 3-1 in the second semi-final clash to seal their place in the final of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Goals from Ella Toone, Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo were all the Lionesses needed to qualify for their first-ever World Cup final on Wednesday.
England, the reigning European champions, took the lead into the interval through Toone’s first-time strike that sailed into the top corner on 36 minutes.
Same Kerr, Australia’s talisman, equalised with an equally impressive solo strike in the 63rd minute before England blew the Aussies away with two goals.

Hemp pounced on a defensive error to restore England’s lead before Russo fired an unstoppable shot across the goalkeeper into the bottom far corner to seal the deserved victory.
