England call Ibe for U-21 games

England U-21 coach, Gareth Southgate, has invited Liverpool midfielder Jordon Ibe and several others with Nigerian origin to a training camp.

The team has a friendly against USA U-23 team on September 3 and a Euro U-21 Championship qualifier against Norway four days later.

The other England U-21 call-ups include Tottenham’s Dele Alli, Dominic Iorfa of Wolves and Arsenal loanee to Hull City Chuba Akpom.

Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has already met up with Ibe because he wishes the winger to play for Nigeria at full international level.

Apparently, Ibe, who has been capped up to England U-20 level, has his eyes on been a full England international instead.

Ibe started the two opening games against Stoke City and Bournemouth but lost his place to new signing Roberto Firmino against Arsenal on Monday night.

He replaced the Brazilian on 63 minutes but struggled to make an impact.
