Enugu Rangers to face Zesco United in CAF Confederation Cup

Nigeria Premier Football League champions, Enugu Rangers, will play Zambia’s Zesco United in the CAF Confederation Cup round of 32.

The Confederation Cup draws were held on Tuesday at the headquarters of CAF, in Egypt.

Rivers United, Nigeria’s other representative, will face Rwanda’s Rayon Sport.

After being relegated from the CAF Champions League, the Nigerian teams dropped down to the Confederation Cup.

Rangers failed to qualify for the group stages after losing 5-3 on aggregate to Egyptian giants Zamalek, while Rivers United fell 4-3 to Sudan’s Al-Merrikh.

Zesco United progressed to the playoff phase of the CAF Confederation Cup following a 5-3 aggregate win over Burundi side Le Messager.

The first leg matches will take place between 7th  and 9th of April while the return leg will hold between 14th and 16th of the same month.

The winners will go into the group stage of the competition.
