Enyeama ‘doesn’t like’ choice of Kaduna for Chad encounter

Super Eagles goalkeeper and captain, Vincent Enyeama, is not pleased with the choice of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna as venue for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Nigeria and Chad.

The Super Eagles begin their campaign to qualify for their first AFCON in four years against Chad on Saturday, but their first choice in goal already has his mind in Kaduna for other reasons.

“I’m not satisfied with the choice of Kaduna and you know I’m a very outspoken person,” Enyeama told Brila FM.

“I don’t like the choice of Kaduna based on what is happening in the country but then the government knows exactly what to do make us safe.

“I am concerned not because it’s Kaduna but because of the security thing. I really don’t care where we play as long as there is going to be security and safety of the players and everyone coming to watch the match.”

Chad will arrive in Abuja on Thursday and proceed to Kaduna same day.

A 41-man contingent will arrive aboard an Air France flight from Paris, where the Les Sao had been training for the game.

There are 22 players in the delegation, with seven technical officials led by coach Emmanuel Tregoat, and 12 administrative officials.

Referee Assoumane Moussa Gnali and his assistants from Niger Republic are due in Nigeria on Thursday.
