Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama, has expressed delight in Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) plans to honour him on the occasion of his 100th senior cap.
The Lille of France goalkeeper is currently at 99 caps and would notch his 100th when Nigeria take on Bolivia in an international friendly at the Akwa Ibom Stadium on Thursday, March 26.
And Enyeama is happy with the milestone and plans to make it a memorable day for him.
“Nothing matches being recognised by your own country. I am very excited at the prospect of reaching 100 caps, and more so at the decision by the NFF to honour me on the day,” he told NFF website.

“The NFF media department has also been speaking to with me and I have followed the publicity they have generated about it. It is a delight. I am also excited by the fact that it will happen in Uyo, my hometown. What a great honour!”
The former Enyimba number-one picks the Nigeria v Argentina FIFA World Cup match at the Ellis Park Stadium, Johannesburg on June 12, 2010, as his most memorable match.
“Yeah, I can tell you that is one match I will always remember,” he said.

“I was highly inspired, and although we lost, I was selected the Man of the Match. We lost 0-1, but Lionel Messi did not score. That was some sort of joy for me.”
Enyeama made his debut for the Nigeria against Kenya in May 2002. He was in the 2002 FIFA World Cup as a cover for Ike Shorunmu.
Since the retirement of Shorunmu, he has been the first-choice goalkeeper helping the Super Eagles to bronze medals in the 2004, 2006, 2010 Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. He finally won gold in the 2013 edition.
Enyeama has also participated in the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups, and the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.
