Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has revealed that his French club Lille quarantines him for three weeks every time he returns from international duty for fear of contracting the Ebola virus.
Enyeama was in goal for Nigeria during last month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan in Khartoum and Abuja but the keeper has revealed that he experiences a treatment akin to be in gaol whenever he returns to France from Nigeria.
“My club monitors me for three weeks any time I return from Nigeria because of Ebola and nobody wants to sit around you or shake you then,” Enyeama told africanfootball.com.
“But I must now commend the Nigerian government for the massive effort they put up to eradicate it from the country and get an approval from the WHO (World Health Organisation).”

Enyeama reiterated his stance that the 2015 AFCON be shifted to a later date because of the dreaded virus.
“If I were CAF, I will suspend the tournament because it is difficult to contain. But if we qualified, I will play in the tournament,” he said.
Meanwhile, the team’s captain will undergo a late fitness test to ascertain if he will play in the must-win qualifier against Congo in Pointe Noire on Saturday.

According to the team goalkeeper trainer Ike Shorunmu, Enyeama is presently nursing a shoulder complaint picked up over the weekend in Lille’s 2-0 loss to Reims in Ligue 1.
“I cannot say now if Vincent would be in between the posts for the game against Congo this weekend,” Shorunmu said.
“Vincent has a slight right shoulder injury which he sustained while in action in his club. But he has seen the team doctors who have communicated to me that it’s not too serious.
“So during training I would confirm if it’s good or not and that would determine whether or not he would be in goal for the game.”

Austin Ejide is expected to be in goal in case Enyeama fails to shrug off the injury.
