Enyeama out of Congo, SA games

Super Eagles number one goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, will miss the team’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo DR and South Africa to attend to “pressing family issues”.

The goalkeeper, who considered quitting the national team after the 2-0 loss to France in Brazil 2014 World Cup, has now withdrawn from the squad for family reasons

“I spoke to the coach and explained to him why I couldn’t make it,” Enyeama told ColinUdoh.com.

“I have some very pressing family issues to attend to at this time and it’s important for me to be there with my family at this time.”

The Lille goalkeeper, though, will be available for future call-ups

“I’ve told the coach that I will be available in future. But this time, I need to be there for my family.”

Nigeria play Congo on September 6 in Calabar and South Africa four days later in Cape Town.
