Vincent Enyeama, Super Eagles goalkeeper, has called on CAF to shelve the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco because of the deadly Ebola virus disease.
The goalkeeper, who is seeking qualification with Nigeria, is worried about the deadly virus being passed on in Morocco and has pleaded with the continental soccer governing body to consider cancelling January’s tournament.
Many part of West Africa have been devastated by the disease, with close to 5,000 deaths recorded so far and there are fears that a tournament of that magnitude could spark a major health crisis in the North African country.
The Lille first-choice keeper expressed his fears after his sides 0-0 draw with Everton in Thursday’s Europa League match.

“I really wish it doesn’t happen with all the people that will be moving around,” he told reporters.
“But I’m not CAF. I’m not the one who calls the shots.
“It’s risky for everyone because you go to Africa and then everyone is hugging you and shaking you, and what can you do? You’re at risk.

“But if it happens I will play, if we qualify.”
The Super Eagles need to win their two remaining matches and hope Congo drop points against Sudan to even have a chance of defending their title in 2015.
