Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, says he will “take anything but not insult to my dead mother” as he broke his silence on the reported rift with coach Sunday Oliseh.
The most capped player in Nigerian football history, with 101 games under the belt, has finally spoken on the altercation he had with Oliseh which has cost him the captain’s armband.
Enyeama made his views known on his Instagram account – vinny2908.
“After 13years of national service, having this smiles on my face and this passion in my heart….through the billows, the waves of the ocean, the tears of defeat, the sound of rejoicing from victory chants. Now the thought of being stripped naked and security agents throwing me out breaks me completely. I will take anything but not insult to my dead mother,” he said.

Enyeama arrived at the Eagles camp in Belgium on Tuesday, one day after Monday’s deadline, after attending to the burial of his mother over the weekend in Akwa Ibom state.
According to reports, Oliseh was unhappy about his captain’s late arrival and demoted him at a team meeting after dinner, naming CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa as the new captain.
With just 52 caps to his name, Musa, will lead Nigeria in the two friendlies against DR Congo on Thursday and Cameroon on Sunday.
