Enyimba clinch 7th NPFL title
Enyimba have won their seventh Nigeria Professional Football League title after a 0-0 draw against Warri Wolves at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
The People’s Elephant needed just a point in their final home game against closest rivals Wolves and they did just enough to earn it.
Enyimba clinched the championship with a game to spare as they have 69 points, six points clear of Warri Wolves.
In Jos, Giwa FC beat Shootings Stars 1-0 to boost their chances of picking a continental ticket.
Charles Okoro scored the only goal of the encounter in the 65 minute.
Sunshine Stars came from behind to beat relegation-bound Bayelsa United 2-1 in Oghara.
Jafar Buhari opened the scoring for Bayelsa in the second minute before the visitors scored two goals to bag the three points at stake with strikes from Tamen Medrano in the 54th minute and substitute Luther Iyorhe in the 65th minute.
