Enyimba coach, Kadiri Ikhana, has insisted the People’s Elephant are worthy winners of the Glo Premier League.
The Aba-based side drew 0-0 against their closest rivals Warri Wolves to win their 7th title with a game to spare.
And the 63-year-old coach said the club’s triumph was fully deserved.
“I believe we fully deserve to win this title. The players have been outstanding and on the day when we needed to keep our heads and get a result, they gave a good account of themselves,” Ikhana told enyimbafc.net.

“Throughout the season, which was very challenging, we played with belief. We knew we had a good chance of winning the league and finally we have done it. I thank God for everything.
“Everyone has worked hard this season. Leading up to this game we were under pressure but thankfully everything has worked out well for us and for our fans.

“Warri Wolves came here to get a victory, but we showed we could hold our own and control the game as well. They have given us a good fight this season but we are finally champions and that is a reflection of the character of our team.
“This is the trophy Enyimba have been trying to win since 2010 and I’m very happy that we have achieved it. Next season will offer us more challenges, but I believe my players have what it takes to continue to be dominant.”
Ikhana guided Enyimba to domestic and continental double in 2003 before quitting at the end of the season.
