Olanrewaju’s appointment followed the departure of Finidi George who took over as coach of the Super Eagles for an ill-fated brief spell.

He spent just seven months at the helm of the most successful Nigerian club.
Olanrewaju’s sack also comes 48 hours after Enyimba failed to win against Plateau United in their NPFL fixture.
The former league champions are on a nine-match winless run in all competitions. They have drawn their last six league fixtures, and have won just once in 10 league matches.
Their continental form is no better, with Enyimba rooted at the bottom of Group D in the CAF Confederations Cup with just one point from three matches, including two defeats.

Olanrewaju, formerly assistant manager at Magate FC, MFM and Vandrezzer, was in charge of Enyimba for 26 matches, with nine wins and seven losses.
Enyimba are in 11th position in the NPFL table with 23 points from 15 matches.
