Enyimba’s Udoji not embarrassed by loss to Flying Eagles

Enyimba captain, Chinedu Udoji, has not taken to heart the 2-0 loss to the Nigeria U-20 team, the Flying Eagles, in the Super Six tournament in Abuja saying the result was not embarrassing.

Eagles captain Musa Mohammed gave his side the lead from the spot in the 58th minute after Ifeanyi Anaemena brought down Taiwo Awoniyi. Substitute Musa Yahaya then took the game beyond the reach of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) runners-up with a late goal.

Udoji, however, says the result notwithstanding, they weren’t embarrassed by the defeat.

“We are a bit older and a bit more experienced than they are but we are not embarrassed because we expected them to give us a good fight and they did just that and at the end they won and I am happy for them,” Udoji told SL10.ng.

“We made a lot of mistakes and we have to look at the kinds of goals we conceded and make corrections before the start of the new league season and especially, the Champions League.”

Enyimba will play Warri Wolves in their second game of the tournament on Monday.
