Gabriel Jesus scored a second half winner as Manchester City defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their English Premier League (EPL) match on Saturday.
The early kick off match saw Man City, EPL champions, cage Chelsea in their own half for much of the game before finding a way through to end Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the season.
Chelsea did not manage to hit a shot on target throughout the encounter.
Pep Guardiola, on the other hand, played a high line that saw his team camp inside Chelsea’s half from the start with no outlet for City, while the only meaningful shot went to City before the interval with Jesus shooting wide.

The Brazilian made his next opportunity count early in the second half with his shot from inside the box deflecting off Jorginho and into the net for the lead on 53 minutes.
City dominated but could have conceded against the run of play with Romelu Lukaku tapping into an empty net from Havertz’s cutback but the German was in an offside position.
Kevin de Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Aymeric Laporte all had chances to increase the margin of victory but failed as City ended their three-match winless run against Chelsea at the fourth attempt.

It is also Guardiola’s first win over Thomas Tuchel in four games after three straight losses.
Chelsea remain joint-top but could be dislodged later by Liverpool if the Anfield side avoid defeat at promoted Brentford.
In the other game of the afternoon, a poor and lethargic Manchester United lost 1-0 to Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
The visitors had several chances to embarrass Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side but snatched the deserved win through Kortney Hause’s 88th-minute strike.
