Manchester City and Newcastle United battled to an entertaining 3-3 draw in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at the St. James’ Park on Sunday.
The six-goal thriller saw three goals in each half as Man City dropped points for the first time in the season while both sides retained their unbeaten status.
Ilkay Gundogan gave Man City the lead in the fifth minute when given too much freedom to pick his spot. Newcastle, however, responded with three goals — two coming in the first period.
Miguel Almiron scored the equalizer for Newcastle before Wilson gave the home side the lead a few minutes to halftime.

Kieran Trippier’s sublime free kick early in the second half made it 3-1.
Man City rallied back and leveled with two goals in four minutes, with Erling Haaland striking first with a bundled finish on 60 minutes and Bernardo Silva restoring parity with a well placed shot.
In the other match of the day, Chelsea succumbed to a debilitating 3-0 loss at Leeds United, finishing the match with ten men following Kalilou Koulibaly’s dismissal late in the game.

A combination of goalkeeping error and lethargy were the London club’s undoing as they lost their first game of the three-week-old season.
