Scott McTominay scored twice in injury time to bail out poor Manchester United and ensure a win against Brentford in their English Premier League (EPL) match at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The wobbling Red Devils trailed from the first half and required the Scottish midfielder to snatch all three points on a day the club mourned the death of Sir Alex Ferguson’s wife.
Brentford had taken the lead on 26 minutes when a comical defending allowed Matthias Jensen to slot home to give the visitors a deserved lead.
The hosts were on the verge of a third consecutive defeat at home when McTominay, who came on as a substitute three minutes to the end of regulation time, fired home a poor Brentford clearance in the 93rd minute before repeating the trick from Harry Maguire’s flicked pass four minutes later.

United were joined on the winning side by Chelsea who scored a big victory at Burnley, coming from behind to thrash the hosts 4-1.
An own goal levelled matters before Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling and Nicholas Jackson consigned Burnley to a fifth consecutive home defeat.
