It’s a weekend of derbies.
Passion and pride aka bragging rights, divide Merseyside and north London fans.
Our analysts are divided, too – in different ways.
Theirs go beyond the two P’s but a lot more on informed analyses based on current form and record book.

Mind you, they are well aware those two take the back seat when Liverpool meet Everton and Arsenal face Tottenham in the mother of all rivalries in the English Premier League.
LIVERPOOL VS EVERTON
Kayode: This Merseyside derby will be a cracker. Losing 3-1 to West Ham was terrible for the Reds and manager Brendan Rodgers’ rotation policy is a huge source of worry now, as some fans and pundits alike are insisting it’s time up for captain fantastic Steven Gerrard. If James McCarthy and Gareth Barry dominate the midfield for Everton, the Reds might struggle. 3-2
Aisha: Really, Liverpool have been inconsistent this season but so have Everton. However, this is the Merseyside derby and I expect fireworks at Anfield. Liverpool to win this 3-2

Sunday: Two straight Premier League defeats have seen the removal of Liverpool from the list of title contenders and what better way to fight back than against a good but leaky Everton defence that has conceded 10 goals in three games. Consider Liverpool’s leaky defence, a bubbly Everton frontline and add Mario Balotelli into the mix then you’d get an explosive Merseyside derby in the making. I am not ruling out a red card in this encounter, and let the higher scoring side win! 3-1
ARSENAL VS SPURS
Sunday: Last weekend was a good audition for the bitterest derby in London: the North London Derby! Arsenal dismantled Villa while Spurs lost at home to West Brom. Wenger will prevail as Tottenham are lacking a good striker while their manager is too pragmatic for a derby talk. Wenger’s boys to reign supreme in London. 2-1
Kayode: Super Derby, will be war as usual. Arsenal come into this with the morale-boosting 3-0 win at Aston Villa last weekend while hoping the loss in the Capital One Cup and the loss in the Champions League to Dortmund wont demoralise the players. But in the EPL, the Gunners are going in the right direction. Tottenham, with no win in three games and without win in the EPL, will of course be desperate. Spurs will still be ambitious to want to finish above Arsenal in the league for the first time in 19 years and this makes for keen contest.3-2
Aisha: The North London derby. The fiercest derby in England! Arsenal have dominated this fixture in recent years and on current form, the Gunners will get this. 3-1

CRYSTAL PALACE VS LEICESTER
Aisha: Leicester City showed remarkable character to come from behind on a number of occasions to beat Manchester United 5-3 (Kayode frowns after being reminded of this result). But Crystal Palace will be tough at home. I expect an entertaining draw. 2-2
Sunday: Leicester City should thank the referee and the whole Man United defence for their win against the Red Devils. However, an impressive Palace unit will be backed by the intimidating atmosphere their vociferous fans create. No hiding place for Nigel Pearson and his boys this time! 1-0
Kayode: (Takes time to talk) This will be great to watch. Palace will do well to be wary of Leicester. Jamie Vardy will join the consistent Leonardo Ulloa to attempt what Leicester did to upset Manchester United. The desire and fighting spirit of Leicester will surely worry the strong Palace defence, which seems vulnerable to pace. Team with strongest desire wins this. 1-2
HULL VS MANCHESTER CITY
Kayode: City did well to come back from what would have been a devastating loss to Chelsea. Now they need to deal with a tricky away game against a Hull City who are strong in midfield and it is pertinent to ask which Yaya Toure turns up for City? Yaya improved on his slow start to the season against Chelsea but he must go full throttle or City might be shocked as Hull have midfielders who can physically confront him. It will go physical at the KC stadium. 1-2

Aisha: Manchester City warmed up for this encounter by demolishing Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday. Hull is a decent side but the champions should win this 1-3
Sunday: City gave a good account of themselves against Chelsea despite going a man and goal down to snatch a deserved draw. The problem with Manuel Pellegrini’s men is that they lack spark at the moment. Silva, Navas, Toure, Nasri et al are off-form while Aguero’s fitness is making the attack too one-dimensional. Hull City is the wrong club to face when things are not right but I believe the City players will rise up to the challenge this weekend. Let the title defence get back on track! 1-3

CHELSEA VS ASTON VILLA
Sunday: The game against Man City brought about the ugly Chelsea Mourinho promised not to show again, but Aston Villa will be ripe for the picking. Paul Lambert’s Villains were brought back down to earth by Arsenal last time out and Diego Costa and co will make them grounded this weekend. No need to blame the flu this weekend, Lambert! (General laughter) 3-0
Aisha: Chelsea are three points clear at the top but would have been further ahead if they had been defending better. Aston Villa were terrible against Arsenal last weekend and I don’t fancy them getting anything from Stamford Bridge. Chelsea will wrap this up. 3-0
Advertisement
Kayode: Aisha, your Chelsea will most likely capitalise on this game to extend their lead on the table and restore confidence after a shaky trip to the Etihad last week. But it will be foolhardy to underrate a progressive Aston Villa with 10 points from a possible 15. Diego Costa will fancy some goals but watch out for new England call up, the energetic Villa Star, Fabian Delph. Villa visit Stamford Bridge, a venue where they have lost four times in the last six seasons with loads of goals conceded. 3-0
MANCHESTER UNITED VS WEST HAM
Sunday: The last I remember of United’s sort of capitulation was Tottenham losing 5-3 from 3-0 to – guess who? Man United over a decade ago. The defence is an apology and its undoing the work of a marvelous attack but this game would kick-start their own season. West Ham have been playing an adventurous style of recent, and this will expose their defence to the Van Gaalacticos. 3-1
Advertisement
Kayode: Even Louis Van Gaal admits this will be his toughest ever job in an amazingly successful career, but he will do well to expect a huge battle against West Ham. Will Tyler Blackett be missed in a defence that’s Uniteds weak link, plus Johnny Evans absence, add also Phil Jones? West Ham, meanwhile, looked so dangerous going forward in their shock win away to Liverpool. It says a lot that West Ham are placed eight on the table with United… (Stammering) 12th. 3-2
Aisha: Predicting Manchester United’s matches these days is a tough task (winks at Kay). Such is how disappointing the Red Devils have been this season. West Ham will put up a good fight but Manchester United should win this 3-1
SOUTHAMPTON VS QPR
Aisha: Southampton currently occupy the lofty position of second on the log while QPR are in the relegation zone. I foresee a comfortable home win for the Saints. 3-0
Kayode: Home team, Southampton might be weakened by the probable absence of their reliable centre backs Toby Alderweireld and Maya Yoshida through injury and if that happens, how much of a game changer will it be as Ronald Koeman continues to navigate his PL adventure. James Ward-Prowse is already out for 12 week, but Koeman will be going into this with the motivational win over Arsenal in the Capital One Cup and looks like still getting away with the three points over a struggling QPR. 2-0
Sunday: I have been impressed with Ronald Koeman’s men and they are riding a wave presently and an abject QPR side will be swept aside. I was talking with the moderator (Victor Akhidenor) the other day about how Rio Ferdinand now plays like a Sunday League player but I still don’t see why Harry Redknapp keeps picking him, and alongside another 35-year old in Clint Hill. That’s catastrophe in the making and their results have shown just that! An easy afternoon on the card for The Saints. 3-1
SUNDERLAND VS SWANSEA
Kayode: Both teams really need the victory as Sunderland attempt to get their first home victory after series of draws, with Swansea losing their last game at home. Bear in mind Sunderland have not won in games against Swansea in their last four meetings. Watch out for Gylfi Sigurdsson for Swansea and recall his decider against Manchester United. 1-2
Sunday: Where will Sunderland’s goals come from? They really have not improved on last season by failing to sign a good goalscorer; that’s why they’re still struggling. Swansea, on the other hand, lost Wilfred Bony to a red card last game and his absence would mean a good chance for Gus Poyet’s home team. Swansea will continue their journey to mid-table obscurity with a loss. 1-0
Aisha: Sunderland are struggling at the wrong end of the table while Swansea are going through a blip after starting brilliantly. I think this will be a draw. 1-1
WEST BROM VS BURNLEY
Aisha: These two sides are not finding things easy at the moment. However, West Brom have showed more promise. I’ll give this to them. 2-1
Kayode: You are spot-on Aisha – the two sides are going through a bad patch. In such a situation, it’s safer to back the home team. Right, Sunday? Or is Ideye scoring again? 2-1
Sunday: (Smiling) But, West Brom have won to ease their worries! Also, I am totally banking on Ideye, yes Ideye, to finally score this weekend after his goal against Hull in the Capital One Cup clash! Burnley will continue to struggle for goals and West Brom to finally win in front of their own fans. 2-0
STOKE CITY VS NEWCASTLE UNITED
Aisha: Newcastle are rock bottom of the table and Alan Pardew may be the next manager to be fired. But his side showed great spirit to come from two goals down against Hull City last weekend. I believe they will come away with a point against Stoke. 1-1
Sunday: As a true Newcastle supporter, (general laughter) I was really unhappy that we snatched a point from Hull last time out as I want Pardew out at the earliest opportunity (he passes a paper round with www.sackpardew.com written on it). Stoke City are enjoying life under Mark Hughes and were unlucky not to win at QPR last time out. Victor Moses is improving by the week and he should contribute immensely in consigning my darling Newcastle to another defeat and hopefully, Pardew will finally be shown the exit door! 2-1
Kayode: After the back-from-the-dead game against Hull, I don’t see Newcastle losing this game. Sunday, and other fans calling for the head of Alan Pardew may well wait for another week end. 1-2
