Liverpool dug deep to rescue a point at Fulham’s Crave Cottage, stadium thanks to Mohamed Salah’s penalty that cancelled out the home side’s first-half lead in their English Premier League (EPL) match on Sunday.
The Reds failed to trouble a rejuvenated Fulham until the second period and had Salah’s penalty to thank for the point.
It was a missed opportunity for Jurgen Klopp’s men to go clear at the top of the EPL table ahead of Tottenham who also failed to win.
Fulham had two clear cut chances saved by Alisson Becker and deservedly took the lead on 25 minutes through Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s strike.

While Fulham were denied a penalty by the video assistant referee (VAR) in the first period, Liverpool improved after the interval and were awarded a penalty in the second half when Aboubakar Kamara blocked Georginio Wijnaldum’s free-kick with his arm.
The Egyptian King dispatched the spot-kick with 11 minutes to go but they could not further breach Fulham’s improved defence.
Fulham now have eight points from 12 matches while Liverpool are second on the table with 25 points, only inferior to Spurs, the league leader, on goals difference.

Kane scores but Tottenham drop points
Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace. In a dominant first half, Harry Kane’s tame shot from 30 yards found the back of the net and Tottenham looked in control.
Crystal Palace would also rely on goalkeeping error to equalize on 81 minutes with Jeffery Schlupp profiting from an error by Hugo Lloris, Tottenham goalkeeper. It was the first goal Tottenham have conceded in over a month.
Tottenham and Liverpool will go head to head next Wednesday with first place on the line.
