EPL results: Palmer breaks record with 4 goals as Salah seals Liverpool win

Cole Palmer

Mohamed Salah scored the winner in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at the Molineux on Saturday.

The Egyptian king’s 61st-minute penalty was enough to seal consecutive wins for the Reds.

Ibrahima Konate had put Liverpool ahead on the stroke of halftime, nodding Diogo Jota’s cross into the net for 1-0 at the interval.

A defensive blunder by Liverpool on 56 minutes let Wolves back into the game, with Rayan Ait-Nouri, the beneficiary, slotting into an empty net to restore parity.

However, the visitors restored their lead through a penalty awarded moments after confirming Wolves equalizer, and Salah dispatched the eventual match-winner.

Arne Slot’s side returns to the top of the EPL table with 15 points from six matches, one ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal who are joint second.

In other matches, Cole Palmer scored all four goals as Chelsea defeated Brighton 4-2 to continue their impressive form. Palmer also became the first player to score four goals in the first half of a Premier League match.
