Mohamed Salah scored twice as Liverpool continued their resurgence with a 3-1 win over West Ham United in their English Premier League (EPL) clash at the London Stadium on Sunday evening.
Salah took centre stage in the absence of Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane with second-half strikes that put the Anfield side on their way to consecutive league wins in four days.
Fresh from humbling Tottenham, the Reds were on the attack from the off and also finished the half stronger with Divock Origi, Giorgino Wijnaldum and Salah all going close. West Ham waited until five minutes before the interval for their first real opportunity with Michael Antonio’s header comfortably saved by Alisson Becker.
Liverpool started the second half like they finished the first with both Origi and Salah going close but West Ham should have taken the lead when Antonio wasted a golden opportunity, curling wide of the post from inside the area.

Liverpool responded with Salah’s opening goal on 57 minutes. The forward was given too much room to cut onto his deadly left foot before slamming a shot into the top corner for his first league goal in six matches.
Salah doubled the lead 11 minutes later when he finished off a counter to devastating effect, controlling Shaqiri’s deep ball with a deft first touch before the 28-year-old delivered a flicked finish for 2-0.
West Ham United are winless in nine Premier League matches against Liverpool and Wijnaldum ensured the tenth on 84 minutes with a simple tap-in from substitute Firmino’s pass.

The Hammers earned a consolation goal three minutes later through Craig Dawson. The defender volleyed in Aaron Creswell’s corner kick to finish the match at 3-1.
Liverpool, who earned their first successive EPL away win for the first time this season, moved up to third on the log with 41 points from 21 matches, four behind Manchester City, the league leaders.
In other matches, Chelsea scored once in each half to earn a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge, giving Thomas Tuchel, their new manager, his first victory as the Blues boss.
Leicester City missed the opportunity to go second in the table, losing 3-1 to Leeds at the King Power Stadium, despite scoring the first goal.
