Arsenal were beaten 2-1 by Fulham in their final English Premier League (EPL) game of 2023 at the Craven Cottage in London.

The title chasers surrendered an early lead to lose their second London derby in four days.

Bukayo Saka had put the Gunners ahead on five minutes but a goal in each half from the hosts ensured a comeback victory for Marco Silva’s side.

Saka looped a rebound into the net from Gabriel Martinelli’s spilt shot to hand Arsenal a perfect start.

Fulham responded well and equalised when Raul Jimenez swept in the leveller on 2o minutes, before Bobby Decordova-Reid stabbed home the winner following a pinball in the penalty area.

Courtesy of the victory, the Cottagers have ended their three-match winless run.

Mikel Arteta’s side, top of the table on Christmas Day, made it three EPL matches without a win and dropped to fourth position with 40 points from 20 matches.
