Chelsea and Manchester United played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Jadon Sancho gave United the lead ten minutes into the second half following a mistake from Jorginho. The Italian midfielder made amends on 69 minutes, converting a penalty won after Aaron Wan Bissaka fouled Thiago Silva in the penalty area.
It was Man United’s first league match since the sack of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the heavy defeat at Watford and the Red Devils were lucky to go back to Manchester with a draw.
Michael Carrick’s side improved to eighth on the EPL log while Chelsea remain top with 30 points from 13 matches but the Blues’ lead at the top is down to one point after Manchester City recorded a 2-1 win over West Ham, moving Pep Guardiola’s side to second position with 29 points.

Earlier, Emmanuel Dennis, the Super Eagles forward, continued his scoring form with a goal in Watford’s 4-2 loss at Leicester City. The 24-year-old stole possession and finished neatly to reduce the deficit at 3-2 on 61 minutes but could not prevent Claudio Ranieri’s side from slumping to defeat.
Dennis, who has now scored five EPL goals, was substituted on 72 minutes due to an injury while Wilfred Ndidi played the entire match for Leicester. Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute in the encounter.
